Arrangement
paired single-row tapered rollers with mounted axial-clearance adjustment.
Troubleshooting
the deck relates cage-weld breaks and raceway indentations to unmeasured/unadjusted assembly clearance; verify with inspection.

H961649/H961610 for HP1063 and HH953749/HH953710 for HP863. These are machine-specific references, not universal replacements.
HP separators: preload and axial location
Bearing position
separator rotating support.
Arrangement
paired angular-contact ball bearings with spring preload.
Engineering focus
preload method, orientation, temperature rise and sealing; distinguish this support from heavily loaded grinding rollers.
Group example (2025)
designations such as 718/710A for the relevant separator; retain suffixes and assembly arrangement.
MPS: tyre-type rollers and separators
Grinding rollers
spherical and cylindrical rollers are combined for the tyre-type arrangement in the deck.
Separator
paired deep-groove balls, including the 618/850MA/C3 example.
Engineering focus
assess axial location, thermal growth, lubrication and clearance independently for each support.
Provide
mill model, roller/separator position, original arrangement and temperature history.
BRM: rollers and separator variants
Roller support
double-row tapered plus cylindrical rollers.
Centre-feed separator
angular-contact or four-point-contact balls combined with deep-groove balls.
Side-feed separator
examples combine single-row tapers/spherical rollers, spherical-roller thrust/spherical rollers, or thrust balls/cylindrical rollers.
Engineering focus
identify feed and shaft architecture before assessing axial loads and location; the BRM family name alone does not specify the arrangement.
Air preheaters: thrust and guiding supports
Bearing positions
the rotor’s main thrust support and guiding supports.
Arrangement
spherical-roller thrust bearings for the main axial load and spherical rollers for guidance.
Conditions
continuous rotation, temperature effects and large-section loading, requiring lubrication and alignment attention.
Engineering focus
the deck combines material, effective hardened depth, microstructure and geometry assessment.
Group examples (2025)
thrust designations including 294/850F1/HC and 294/750 with corresponding guides; interpret project targets under their original equipment conditions.
Information for an application enquiry
Equipment and position
machine model, mounting position and complete bearing designation with suffixes. For replacements, include the original arrangement and fit dimensions.
Operating records
bearing speed in rpm, radial and axial loads, shocks and starts/stops. Paper-web and rolling-line speeds are not bearing rotational speeds.
Lubrication and assembly
lubricant grade, oil supply or relubrication records, temperature, mounted clearance or preload, seals and contamination.
Problem and objective
temperature rise, noise, vibration or flaking, timing, photographs and maintenance records, plus the outage window or redesign objective.
