Define the issue and the meaning of inputs
Define the issue
identify whether it occurs during fitting, locking, cold rotation or warm operation. Record the complete designation, pair orientation, shoulders/end covers and the equipment preload method. Describe tightness or looseness through repeatable observations or measurements.
Cutting spindles: location, stiffness and heat

Positions
front/rear spindle supports.
Arrangement
NN/NNU double-row cylindrical rollers with angular-contact balls, and steel/ceramic-ball angular-contact supports for machining centres.
Conditions
speed, cutting load, rotational accuracy and thermal growth jointly determine the arrangement.
Engineering focus
preload, operating clearance, lubrication, cleanliness and mounting accuracy under the actual spindle duty spectrum.
Ball screws: matched thrust angular contacts

Position
locating support at the ball-screw end.
Arrangement
matched thrust angular-contact ball bearings in 7602, 7603 and BSB families.
Engineering focus
matching, prelubrication, sealing and orientation; preload follows the matched set and shaft-end design.
Provide
screw load, feed rate, bearing rpm, spacing, positioning accuracy and envelope.
Rotary tables: combined loads and overturning

Position
the rotary working table.
Arrangement
rotary-table bearings and crossed tapered rollers carrying radial/axial loads and overturning moments.
Engineering focus
mounting-face precision, preload, fits and lubrication; assess compact designs with their connected structure.
Provide
load centre, table speed, accuracy target and interface drawing.
Follow an evidence-based inspection path
Inspection path
retain specified shaft/housing tolerances alongside measured values. Check locating forces, orientation, fastening sequence and thermal change. Any clearance/preload adjustment needs matching designation data and a validation plan; a category illustration is not an equipment drawing.
Information for a technical enquiry
Equipment and position
machine model, mounting position and complete bearing designation with suffixes. For replacements, include the original arrangement and fit dimensions.
Operating records
bearing speed in rpm, radial and axial loads, shocks and starts/stops. Paper-web and rolling-line speeds are not bearing rotational speeds.
Lubrication and assembly
lubricant grade, oil supply or relubrication records, temperature, mounted clearance or preload, seals and contamination.
Problem and objective
temperature rise, noise, vibration or flaking, timing, photographs and maintenance records, plus the outage window or redesign objective.
Record a practical verification plan
Record drawing/reference versions, original duty, proposed changes, verification methods and results. Separate observations, hypotheses and verified conclusions. Follow equipment procedures; do not exceed operating limits to gather test data.
