Mining trucks: wheel ends and wheel drives

Positions
front hubs, electric wheel drives and differential gearing.
Arrangement
tapered wheel-end bearings, tapered/spherical electric-drive supports and cylindrical/tapered differential supports.
Conditions
heavy loads and shocks with constrained space.
Engineering focus
material/heat treatment, contact profiles and wheel-end simulation; vehicle payload alone cannot determine a bearing designation.
Roadheaders: cutting, loading and slewing

Positions
cutting arm, reducer, motor, loading star wheels and body slewing support.
Arrangement
double-row cylindrical/tapered or spherical/double-row tapered cutting-arm combinations; integrated slewing options for star wheels; three-row cylindrical or four-point-contact body supports.
Conditions
shocks and combined loads with interactions between clearance, temperature and housing deflection.
Engineering focus
collect separate cutting, loading and slewing load/arrangement data.
Shearers, scraper conveyors and belt conveyors

Shearers
cylindrical/tapered supports in cutting and travelling drives, with shock, clearance and temperature concerns.
Scraper conveyors
double-row tapered chain-shaft supports under heavy and impact loads.
Belt conveyors
spherical-roller drum supports and sealed deep-groove idlers; water, dust and relubrication matter.
Engineering focus
peak loads, chain/belt tension, seals and contamination records for each support.
Cranes and port machinery

Positions
turntables, sheaves, hooks, and stacker/reclaimer or portal-crane slewing/travel systems.
Arrangement
three-row cylindrical or four-point-contact turntables, full-complement cylindrical sheaves and spherical-roller thrust hooks.
Conditions
lifting loads, overturning moments and repeated starts/stops; travel and slewing loads differ.
Engineering focus
rated/peak duty, cycles, bolted interfaces, seals and lubrication maintenance.
TBMs: main support and cutter-drive positions

Positions
main support, segment erector, disc cutters and gearbox.
Conditions
combined thrust, cutting and rotation, with dust/slurry ingress and sealing concerns.
Arrangement distinction
large main supports, cutters and drive gearboxes need separate assessments.
Engineering focus
ground/cutter duty, thrust/torque, bearing arrangement, seal system and service access.
Excavators, loaders and bulldozers

Excavators
four-point-contact or three-row roller slewing supports, with separate travel/drive arrangements.
Loaders
gearbox, reducer, hub and torque-converter positions.
Bulldozers
final, central and transmission supports using balls/cylindrical/tapered rollers.
Engineering focus
identify machine model and exact position, preserving suffixes and drawings; a shared vehicle brand does not imply an identical arrangement.
Information for an application enquiry
Equipment and position
machine model, mounting position and complete bearing designation with suffixes. For replacements, include the original arrangement and fit dimensions.
Operating records
bearing speed in rpm, radial and axial loads, shocks and starts/stops. Paper-web and rolling-line speeds are not bearing rotational speeds.
Lubrication and assembly
lubricant grade, oil supply or relubrication records, temperature, mounted clearance or preload, seals and contamination.
Problem and objective
temperature rise, noise, vibration or flaking, timing, photographs and maintenance records, plus the outage window or redesign objective.
